Role Overview
- Position Type: Fixed Term — 6 months (with potential to be 0.8 load - no scheduled classes on Thursdays)
- Start Date: Term 3
- Location: Melbourne's Northern Suburbs
- Teaching Load: Year 8 English and Year 9 Humanities
- Salary: $78,564 to $118,063 FTE depending on experience and classification.
POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Year 8 English lessons aligned to the Victorian Curriculum, fostering a love of literature, language and critical thinking
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Year 9 Humanities lessons that develop students' inquiry, analytical and global thinking skills
- Apply evidence-based teaching strategies to support diverse learners and build strong foundations for senior pathways
- Maintain accurate student records, assessments and reporting in line with college and Department of Education requirements
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues on English and Humanities curriculum planning, moderation and professional learning
- Contribute to the broader school community through pastoral care and co-curricular engagement for the duration of the contract
About You
You're a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
