Business Analyst | AI & Governance Tools
n
Contract: February 2026 – February 2027 (12‐month, with possible extension).
n Location: Brisbane City Fringe, with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
n
- Elicit functional and non‐functional requirements, create use cases, user stories, and related documentation.
n
- Manage requirements: discover, define, validate, prioritise, and continuously manage them to align with architectural principles.
n
- Analyze data sets to derive actionable insights and support decision making.
n
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions to optimise business processes.
n
- Produce detailed documentation of requirements, workflows, and outcomes, including business process models.
n
- Act as liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure smooth communication.
n
- Facilitate workshops using best‐practice techniques such as design and systems thinking.
n
- Collaborate with technical specialists and service management stakeholders to coordinate process changes.
n
- Generate reports to communicate findings to executive audiences and stakeholders.
n
- Monitor and report on the benefits and performance of new processes.
n
- Support testing and validation of new systems and processes to meet business requirements.
n
- Provide training and support to staff on recent processes and tools.
n

Key Deliverables & Milestones
n
Project schedule and milestones to be determined. The Business Analyst will adhere to the organisation's project management, testing, change management, and software development frameworks, standards, and lifecycles while delivering artefacts.

Skills and Experience
n
Essential
n
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Lead Business Analyst or similar role.
n
- Significant experience in business analysis techniques and rapid, accurate requirement elicitation.
n
- Exceptional analytical and problem‐solving skills; ability to develop BPMN process mapping, data and system documentation per industry standards.
n
- Proven track record supporting high‐impact initiatives that deliver meaningful change.
n
- Excellent written communication, including clear technical specifications, presentations, and reports.
n
- Strong interpersonal skills for team-oriented, outcome‐focused relationships.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
n
Highly Desirable
n
n
- Experience in higher education or government sector.
n
- Experience in SaaS/COTS procurement and implementation.
n
- Knowledge of AI technologies and tools.
n
n

Casual Loading
