About the role
As Team Leader Navigation Services, you will lead the daily operations of Navigation Services by providing guidance and support to a team of navigation professionals. You’ll oversee the delivery of a person-centered service to Queenslanders diagnosed with cancer, and/or a life limiting/terminal illness, their family, friends and care givers through the provision of systematic assessment of distress and needs, provision of psychosocial support, referrals to internal programs and services and linkages to external services.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Allied Health, Social Work or other related disciplines.
- Registration with Australian Health Professional Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or respective professional body.
- Experience in coordinating the day to day management of a team, in a human services contact centre environment.
- Experience leading teams in a clinical/health service or community services environment.
- Experience in assessing patient/client needs and making appropriate referrals to health professionals, community services and non-government organisations, utilising problem-solving skills and a client centered approach.
- Advanced verbal and listening skills with the ability to build professional rapport and trust, engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Experience in the provision of psychosocial and information support.
- Experience in Oncology and/or an understanding of the impact of a cancer diagnosis and knowledge of the psychosocial and information needs of people affected by cancer, as well as recent practice in a clinical/health service or community health environment would be well regarded, but is not essential.
