Job Description
Job details
n
If you're someone who shows up with kindness, patience and a good sense of humour, you might be exactly who we're looking for. SIRV is a registered NDIS provider specialising in complex care, high intensity supports and mental health support work.
n
We're on the lookout for Disability Support Specialists to support people in their own homes and out in the community. The work is simple to explain but powerful in practice — helping with everyday life, offering encouragement, and being someone a person can rely on.
n
Some days you might be helping around the house, providing personal care, cooking a meal, or keeping someone company. Other days you might be heading out for a coffee, a walk, an appointment or a favourite activity. It's real, one‐on‐one support, built on trust and respect.
n
Our high intensity supports include bowel and catheter care, PEG, NGT and stoma care. If you don't have the experience, that's no problem - we provide all training for these supports.
n
Shifts vary to suit different people and lifestyles. Some supports start from a 2‐hour minimum, while others are longer support days. That means flexibility, variety,
and the chance to build genuine rapport instead of rushing from place to place.
n
We have a range of work available from Singleton, Maitland, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.
n
Our participants are diverse and you will have the opportunity to support:
n
n
- Children and young people, helping with routines, activities, skill‐building and community outings.
n
- Mature‐aged clients, offering practical support, companionship and help to stay independent at home and in the community.
n
n
Experience is great, but it's not everything. If you're caring, reliable, and comfortable working independently in someone's home, we want to hear from you. A driver's licence and reliable vehicle are significant, and you'll need (or be willing to get) NDIS clearance, Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR.
n
You'll be joining a friendly, down‐to‐earth team that values people over paperwork. We'll support you, train you, and treat you like a human — not just a roster line.
n
If you're looking for work that feels good at the end of the day and actually makes a difference, we'd love to meet you.
