About the Role
The role is part of the Finance Operations team, which sits within the broader Finance function and manages the day-to-day operational needs of the Direct, Broker, and Agency business, including Credit Control.
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end accounting processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash flow monitoring.
Prepare and analyse reinsurance reporting, partner commission and profit share calculations, and distribution channel results.
Support regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements, including BAS, APRA, Stamp Duty, and other statutory returns.
Maintain strong financial controls, investigate variances and unusual transactions, and drive continuous improvements in accounting processes and systems.
Collaborate with internal teams and business partners, mentor assistant accountants, and contribute to projects that enhance finance operations and efficiency.
About You
Must have CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent)
Substantial experience, preferably within the financial services sector
Strong financial management and accounting skills
Good exposure to actuarial valuation principles, reinsurance, etc
Relevant experience in the general insurance sector, including exposure to actuarial valuation principles, reinsurance, and related areas.
