We are seeking a Contracts & Procurement Lead on a 2 year fixed-term contract to join our HSE & Operated Assets team to provide primary expertise in operational procurement, contracting and supplier management in support of secure, reliable and efficient production operations.
Reporting to the General Manager - Supply Chain, you will:
- Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics and Warehousing teams to understand business priorities and provide proactive procurement and contracting support.
- Lead sourcing and contracting activities for operational materials, equipment and third-party services.
- Ensure production-critical materials and services are sourced, expedited and delivered in a timely manner to support safe and reliable operations.
- Develop and implement sourcing and contracting strategies that deliver best-for-business commercial outcomes while maintaining operational continuity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors to drive responsiveness, reliability and performance.
- Influence suppliers and stakeholders to resolve issues, remove barriers and achieve business objectives.
- Identify, assess and mitigate supply chain risks that may impact production, maintenance, shutdown or integrity activities.
- Lead tendering, commercial evaluations, negotiations and contract award activities in accordance with company governance requirements.
- Establish, renew and manage operational contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and business requirements.
- Manage urgent and emergent procurement requirements, demonstrating ownership, urgency and a relentless focus on delivering outcomes.
- Promote MEPAU's Local Content objectives by identifying and developing opportunities for local, regional and Indigenous suppliers whilst maintaining safe, reliable and cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, delegated authorities and applicable HSE requirements.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to C&P; team members and contribute to capability development across the Supply Chain function.
- Support shutdowns, major maintenance campaigns and operational readiness activities as required.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance and supply chain effectiveness.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary degree (e.g., economics, commerce, or supply chain management).
- A minimum of 10 years' experience within C&P; in the oil & gas industry.
- Exposure to contract lifecycle management including procurement planning, strategy development, tendering, negotiations, contract formation, administration, and contract close-out.
- Proven track record of working effectively within procurement processes in an operational oil & gas environment or similar experience.
- Driven to deliver best-for-business value outcomes with a high attention to detail.
- Specific experience managing operational contracts, including OEM equipment, maintenance services, technical support agreements and critical spare parts.
- A team player with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Sound organisational skills, including multitasking, time-management and influencing without authority.
- High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Excellent business writing and oral communication skills, high attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
