Genesis Christian College is seeking a passionate Cook to join our vibrant Eden Eats Canteen team, supporting our Canteen Manager in delivering fresh, nutritious food to our school community. Based in Bray Park, QLD, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a popular, well-resourced canteen where you’ll play a key role in preparing high-quality meals, supervising kitchen staff, and contributing to a positive, welcoming environment for students, staff and families.

About the Role:

5 days per week during the school term with the availability to work some school holidays.

Reporting to the Canteen Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Preparing and cooking a variety of fresh, high-quality meals

- Supporting the coordination and supervision of kitchen staff and volunteers

- Assisting with catering, food preparation, and counter service during busy periods

- Maintaining efficient kitchen operations and high presentation standards

- Ensuring all food safety, hygiene, and WHS practices are consistently met

About you:

You are an organised and capable cook who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being part of a community-focused team. You will bring:

- Eligibility for a Current Food Safety Certificate

- Strong understanding of WHS and safe food handling practices





- Experience in a school canteen or high-volume kitchen workplace (highly regarded)

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and deliver quality at scale

- Confidence using commercial kitchen equipment (e.g. combi ovens)

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

- Eligibility to hold a Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (advantageous)
