Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation providing Disability, Therapy and Community Services for children, adolescents and adults, through:
- Allied Health therapy programs (including Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology)
- Independent Living programs
- Pathways Program
- Employment and Training
- Specialist Disability Accommodation
- Children and Youth Services

Purpose The Cultural Officer is a key role within Carpentaria's Out of Home Care (OoHC) program, responsible for providing expert cultural guidance, advice, and support to ensure services are delivered in a culturally safe and responsive manner that is grounded in the rights, values, and lived experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and families.
The ideal candidate
- Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- Strong cultural knowledge, relationships, and understanding of Northern Territory cultural and community protocols.
- Experience working in community services, disability, youth, OoHC, or similar human services.
- Experience developing and implementing Cultural Support Plans or similar cultural documentation.
Remuneration and benefits A competitive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, including:
- Competitive base salary package
- Salary packaging available (equivalent of up to $6,400 additional salary)
- 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading
