Located in the heart of Melbourne's legal precinct, the Victorian Bar is the professional association representing 2,270 barristers in Victoria. The Bar is a busy, thriving community comprising barristers, clerks and support staff.

We are seeking a Corporate Services Manager to join our team to provide quality, effective and value-adding services for members, and to support an engaged employee environment and culture. Reporting to the Executive Director, this opportunity will suit a strategic thinker, who is committed to providing exceptional customer service and championing an environment that fosters continuous improvement.
This is a multi-faceted role, with key responsibilities that include:
- Managing the administrative team and operational delivery of Corporate Services functions, including the Victorian Bar office reception, Victorian Bar Mediation Centre and other VicBar facilities, to ensure efficient, responsive and high-quality services for members and stakeholders.
- People, culture and wellbeing portfolio, including management of the HRIS platform (Employment Hero), recruitment, employee relations, organisational development initiatives and the Bar's wellbeing function.
- Overseeing occupational health, safety and psychosocial safety, including the development, implementation and review of OHS policies, procedures, risk controls and workplace wellbeing initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contemporary workplace practices.
- Reviewing data and evaluating the impact and effectiveness of organisational initiatives, identify trends,
opportunities, and support continuous improvement.
- Managing the Digital team, IT functions and technology-related projects, including oversight of technology support arrangements, digital platforms, the VicBar website and systems improvement initiatives.
- Business continuity planning, management and execution, as required; acting as the Data Breach Response Officer.
- Supporting the management of cultural resources, including archival, historical and gallery art collections.
Key selection criteria:
To be considered for this role, you will have the following key skills:
- Leadership, strategic thinking, people management and alignment with VicBar values
- Minimum 5 years of leadership and people management experience, preferably in professional services or association management
- Operational management experience, particularly in facilities and asset management
- Effective delegation, accountability and organisational development skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary HR, OHS and psychosocial safety practices, relevant employment and workplace safety legislation, and associated compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience across recruitment, performance and development, employee relations, organisational development and wellbeing initiatives
- Skills in conducting workplace investigations, grievance processes, and disciplinary procedures
- Proven project management skills with experience delivering organisational change initiatives
- Understanding of the structures within the legal profession
- IT governance and technology management experience
- Understanding of data security, privacy and breach response protocols, database systems, SharePoint, digital voting platforms, and cybersecurity principles
- Business continuity planning and risk management skills.
