Steel Mains is Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of complete steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater, offering a total solution approach to its customers. We are looking for a number of Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team based at in Somerton, Victoria. This is a full-time role that will be working as part of our Fabrication team reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor.

Responsibilities

n

n
- Heavy / Structural and pressure class fabrication of Steel Pipe Systems
n
- Working on Lobster Backs, Tees Reducers
n
- Fabrication / Welding of Steel Pipe Pieces
n
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes
n
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes
n
- MIG and Flux core welding
n
- Welding and repairing pipe
n
- Welding steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater
n
- Metal fabrication
n
- Grinding
n
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
n

Candidate Qualifications

n

n
- Trade qualified Metal Fabricator
n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/plans
n




- Proven experience flux core welding
n
- Well versed with GMAW and FCAW welding processes
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
n
- Ability to work independently and remain motivated
n
- Energic and 'can-do' approach
n
- Full working rightsBe willing to undergo pre-employment medical
n
- Be willing to undertake a weld qualification testing and layout/mark-up testing as applicable
n

Pay and Perks

n

The successful candidate will initially commence at an hourly base rate of $37.82 per hour. Other standard entitlements include:

- Overtime
n
- Superannuation – at SGC rate
n
- Annual Leave – 4 weeks per year
n
