Gepps Cross

At Silentium Defence, we’re developing world-leading passive radar and advanced sensing technology that supports Defence, national security and critical infrastructure.

As our technology environment and programs continue to grow, we’re looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team and help strengthen the security and resilience of our systems, networks, cloud platforms and data.

This is a hands-on operational cyber security role where you’ll work closely with our IT team, engineering teams and business stakeholders. From investigating security alerts and managing vulnerabilities to supporting incident response and Defence security requirements, you’ll play an important role in protecting the technology and information that underpin our business.

If you enjoy getting into the detail, investigating what’s happening behind an alert and turning security risks into practical actions, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Opportunity

As our Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll support the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of Silentium Defence’s cyber security environment.

You’ll monitor and investigate security activity, manage vulnerabilities, support incident response and help maintain the controls, documentation and evidence required within a Defence industry environment.

Working alongside our IT Manager and broader IT team, you’ll also collaborate with engineers, system owners and external providers to identify risks, coordinate remediation and strengthen our overall cyber resilience.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Monitor security tools, alerts and dashboards to identify and investigate suspicious activity and potential threats.
- Triage and investigate cyber security incidents, supporting containment, evidence collection, documentation and post-incident reviews.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis, prioritise risks and coordinate remediation with IT teams and system owners.
- Track vulnerabilities and remediation activities through to successful resolution.
- Support identity and access management, MFA, endpoint security, access reviews, permission audits and privileged account monitoring.
- Assist with the implementation,

operation and continuous improvement of cyber security controls.
- Support compliance activities relating to Essential Eight, DISP, ASD ISM and customer security requirements.
- Assist with security audits, assessments, evidence collection, risk assessments and security documentation.
- Maintain accurate incident, vulnerability and risk registers, security records and reporting metrics.
- Support phishing awareness initiatives, cyber security education and practical guidance for employees.
- Work with managed security providers, technology vendors, auditors, assessors and cyber security consultants.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen security controls, reduce recurring issues and improve cyber resilience across the business.

What You’ll Bring

You’re someone who combines technical curiosity with a strong security mindset. You enjoy investigating problems, understanding why something has happened and working collaboratively to find a practical solution.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in IT, cyber security or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Experience within IT, infrastructure or cyber security, including investigating technical issues, alerts or incidents.
- Demonstrated understanding of cyber security principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, networking fundamentals, Windows Server administration and cloud security.
- Familiarity with security technologies, endpoint security and security monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate technical security risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience producing technical reports,

security documentation and user guidance.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to get involved in practical security improvements.

Experience or knowledge of Essential Eight, ASD ISM, DISP, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CMMC or ISO 27001 will be highly regarded.

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-200, SC-300 or AZ-500, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, GIAC or CEH would also be advantageous.

Experience within Defence, Government, engineering, advanced manufacturing or another high-tech environment would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
