We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Lead to support a major Defence program. This senior leadership position will be responsible for leading cyber security obligations across the program, guiding delivery teams on security requirements, and supporting customer approval activities to ensure secure and efficient delivery outcomes. The role requires a strong background in cyber security engineering, governance, risk and compliance, combined with programme management experience and the ability to influence stakeholders across technical, operational, and customer environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead cyber security obligations across a complex Defence program.
- Provide cyber security leadership throughout the program delivery lifecycle.
- Guide teams on compliance with cyber security requirements and frameworks.
- Support customer approval activities, including security documentation, evidence collection, assurance activities, and accreditation processes.
- Lead governance, risk and compliance activities across the program.
- Partner with program management, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders to strengthen security outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement of the program's cyber security posture and risk management capability.




- Contribute to secure programme delivery by balancing security requirements with operational and project objectives.

Education/Certifications required

- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

Knowledge/Skills required

- Minimum 8 years' experience within cyber security.
- Strong experience across Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and Security Engineering.
- Demonstrated cyber security engineering background.
- Programme management experience within complex delivery environments.
- Knowledge of cyber security standards, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working within Defence environments.
- Understanding of the Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework (CSAAF).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence technical teams, project stakeholders, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
