Role Description The Cybersecurity Analyst role at Seldon Lab is a part-time, remote position focused on protecting systems and applications in an AGI-influenced environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring security events, analyzing potential threats, and conducting investigations into suspicious activities. The role involves assessing application and network security controls, reviewing logs, and performing malware analysis to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.

The Cybersecurity

Analyst will collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve security posture, document findings, and contribute to incident response and security best practices. This position requires independent work, clear communication of technical risks, and proactive identification of security improvements.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Cybersecurity with applied experience in threat detection and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in Application Security, including secure coding principles and vulnerability identification in software and services.
- Experience with Network Security, such as configuring and analyzing firewalls,



intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools.
- Hands-on skills in Malware Analysis, including examining suspicious files, behavior, and indicators of compromise.
- Excellent Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, prioritize risks, and make sound, evidence-based recommendations.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and common security tools (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners).
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for documenting findings and collaborating with remote, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part time hours effectively, and respond promptly to security issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience or interest in AI/AGI security, emerging threats, and secure design for advanced technologies is highly beneficial.
