We are currently seeking two experienced EL1 Data Engineers to join a senior Data Services team delivering enterprise data initiatives within a complex technology workplace.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to a Data Engineer who enjoys working across data engineering, SQL development, technical design and enterprise data platforms , while also providing technical guidance to delivery teams.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable data solutions, with a strong focus on enterprise data integration, ETL processes and analytical datasets.

Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, developers, testers and support teams, you will help deliver high-quality and maintainable data solutions while contributing to the ongoing improvement of data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to data delivery teams through design reviews, technical advice and implementation best practices.
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise data integration solutions, ETL processes and analytical datasets.
- Lead the technical implementation of new data assets from analysis and design through to deployment and operational support.
- Review and enhance data delivery frameworks, development standards and engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain SQL analytical code, ETL processes and supporting technical documentation.
- Conduct peer reviews of code, data models and technical designs.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and data assets.




- Collaborate with stakeholders, data consumers, developers, testers and support teams.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and capability uplift across the Data Services team.
- Contribute to backlog prioritisation, planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will have strong experience working within enterprise data environments, with demonstrated capability across:
- Enterprise data warehouse platforms such as MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks or equivalent .
- Advanced SQL development , including optimisation, troubleshooting and reverse engineering existing code.
- Programming using SQL and one or more languages such as Python, SAS, R or Java .
- Interpreting data models, technical specifications and solution designs.
- Working within DevOps environments and contemporary software development and delivery practices.
- Version control tools and structured release management processes.
- Data integration, ETL development and analytical datasets.

Desirable Experience

- Four or more years' experience in a similar data engineering, data development or enterprise data warehouse role.
- Experience with cloud technologies and services such as AWS, S3 and Glue , or equivalent platforms.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related discipline.
- Experience applying data modelling methodologies and metadata-driven development frameworks.
- Experience using SAS, Excel and other enterprise analytics or reporting tools .
