Data Consultant — Senior Consultant / Manager / Senior Manager Corporate Value Associates (CVA) | Australia & Recent Zealand

CVA is a global strategy boutique trusted by CEOs and boards to solve their hardest problems. We're expanding our AI & Tech team, and we're looking for data consultants across Senior Consultant, Manager and Senior Manager levels to help shape it from the ground up.

Why this role is different

It's a chance to get in early on a new capability inside a firm with real strategy pedigree — combining CVA's boardroom relationships and commercial rigour with hands-on data and AI expertise. You'll help define how we bring data-driven insight and applied AI to strategy engagements, and your fingerprints will be on the way this practice works for years to come.

What you'll do

- Partner with CVA strategy teams and clients to translate messy, ambiguous business questions into data-driven answers
- Design and deliver analytics, AI/ML and GenAI solutions that sit inside broader strategy and transformation engagements
- Work directly with senior client stakeholders — CEOs, CFOs, and functional leaders — to shape recommendations and drive decisions
- Help build CVA's AI & Tech methodology, tools and ways of working, and mentor junior team members as the practice grows




- Manage or contribute to workstreams across sectors including consumer, industrials, financial services, and more

What we're looking for

- Experience in data/analytics consulting, data science, or an internal data/AI team, ideally with exposure to strategy or management consulting (minimum 3 years experience)
- Strong technical grounding — comfortable with things like SQL, Python, cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), BI tools, and increasingly AI/ML and GenAI applications
- The ability to translate technical work into clear, commercially relevant insight for non-technical stakeholders
- An entrepreneurial mindset — genuine excitement about building a new practice, not just joining one
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- For Manager and Senior Manager candidates: a track record of leading workstreams or teams and managing senior client relationships
