Role DescriptionThe Data Insights Analyst will support the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of business data to help organizations identify trends, understand performance, and make informed decisions. The role focuses on transforming raw information into meaningful insights through structured analysis, reporting, visualization, and clear communication.
Key responsibilities include collecting data from approved business systems, databases, spreadsheets, reports, and other sources. The role will organize, clean, validate, and prepare datasets to ensure information is suitable for analysis and reporting.
The position will analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, relationships, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Responsibilities may include comparing key performance indicators, reviewing historical data, monitoring business metrics, and investigating unusual changes or discrepancies.
The Data Insights Analyst will create and maintain reports, dashboards, charts, summaries, and other analytical materials that communicate important findings to stakeholders. The role will translate analytical results into clear and practical insights that can support business planning and operational decisions.
Additional responsibilities include conducting ad hoc analysis, supporting forecasting activities, preparing presentations, documenting analytical methods, and assisting with recurring reporting processes. The role may also contribute to improving data collection procedures, reporting workflows, and analytical processes.
The successful candidate should be curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers and structured information. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities are important for identifying meaningful patterns and determining what the data indicates.
The role requires strong communication skills because analytical findings need to be presented clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate should be able to explain data trends, summarize findings, and provide evidence-based recommendations in a simple and understandable manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, and basic statistical concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet and data-analysis tools.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent tools.
- Ability to collect, clean, organize, validate,
and analyze structured datasets.
- Strong understanding of basic data-quality concepts, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, and validity.
- Ability to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, relationships, and performance changes within datasets.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a structured approach to solving data-related problems.
- Ability to prepare transparent reports, dashboards, charts, presentations, and analytical summaries.
- Understanding of common business metrics, KPIs, performance indicators, and reporting requirements.
- Ability to translate analytical findings into clear business insights and practical recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing datasets, calculations, reports, and visualizations.
- Familiarity with Python, R, or other data-analysis tools is advantageous.
- Understanding of basic data visualization and presentation principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain data findings clearly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business teams, analysts, managers, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple analytical tasks and deadlines.
- Understanding of data privacy, confidentiality, and responsible data-handling practices.
- Proactive and curious mindset with a willingness to learn new analytical techniques, tools, technologies, and business domains.
