We are looking for a Data Processor to join our team in Perth and contribute to the processing and delivery of high-quality survey data across our projects.

Role Overview

As a Data Processor, you will be responsible for processing, analysing, and ensuring the accuracy of hydrographic and geophysical survey data, as well as troubleshooting data anomalies, optimising workflows, and supporting final deliverables.

The role involves advanced knowledge of multibeam echosounder (MBES) data processing, geospatial analysis, and hydrographic data validation, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in survey data processing.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide support and guidance for the planning and preparation of data processing for survey projects.
- Contribute to the data processing phase of survey projects.
- Contribute to data processing procedures, workflow optimisation, development of data processing capabilities, and troubleshooting complex data issues.
- Apply predetermined filters and smoothing algorithms to datasets.
- View and compare raw and processed data sets.
- Provide technical guidance to junior personnel and support their professional development.
- Check processed data against project requirements and specifications.
- Produce concise reports using correct grammar, language, terminology, and notation.

Education And Experience Required

- MSc or BSc in Hydrographic Surveying, Geomatics, Computer Science, or equivalent.




- Relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
- Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Data Processor Grade 1 or 2.
- Relevant experience from the Navy may also be considered.
- Offshore safety training and a valid medical certificate for offshore work are beneficial, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills.
