We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Electrical Engineer who has an eye for detail, strong technical capability and a drive to 'get it done'.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Research, define and document detailed electrical and component specifications.
- Prepare design documentation in accordance with SMARDT's quality control requirements.
- Participate in and provide leadership across collaborative global design projects for electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure electrical designs meet regulatory compliance requirements with minimal global variance, including compliance with applicable Australian and New Zealand regulations.
- Develop CAD models and technical drawings to support manufacturing operations globally.
- Evaluate electrical assembly techniques and test procedures to ensure safety throughout the manufacture, testing, commissioning, use and servicing of SMARDT products.
- Assist in the development of supporting product and technical documentation.
- Conduct cost improvement initiatives, drive innovation and work closely with suppliers and Production to identify reliable and cost-effective solutions.
- Provide technical support and leadership to engineering teams in Melbourne and China.
- Manage day-to-day engineering workloads and generate wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) and other designs required to support a smooth production process.
- Develop test plans and conduct component testing and validation.
- Generate work instructions and procedures as required.




- Troubleshoot and provide practical engineering solutions to production and manufacturing issues.
- Maintain appropriate housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of five years' experience in a similar engineering role is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and operation of low-voltage (<600V) electrical switchgear and control design within a manufacturing setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of power quality management, harmonic mitigation strategies and EMC compliance.
- Experience designing electrical systems using busbars.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment and providing practical engineering solutions to production issues.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive, 'can-do' approach.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate within an agile, global engineering team.
- Experience with HVAC systems will be highly regarded.
- Experience with heat, cooling, refrigeration and ventilation systems is preferred.
