At Journey Early Learning, we know that every moment in a child’s day matters -including the meals they share. Our Centre Chef plays a meaningful role in supporting children’s wellbeing, development and sense of belonging through fresh, nourishing food made with care.

We’re looking for a passionate and organised Chef to join our Tatura centre and become an integral part of our community.
Monday to Friday | flexible hours for the right candidate.

You’ll create healthy, balanced meals that fuel children’s development while fostering a love of food through positive, engaging experiences. Working alongside our educators, you’ll bring our Future Foodies program to life each day.

As our Chef, you’ll help children explore food in meaningful and fun ways:

Your impact goes beyond the plate! You help shape children’s confidence, wellbeing and relationship with food.

- Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks
- Cater for dietary, medical, and cultural requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant kitchen
- Manage ordering, stock, and budgets




- Collaborate with educators to enhance mealtime experiences
- Build solid relationships with children, families, and your team

What You’ll Bring

- Experience in a Chef/Cook role (early learning or large-scale cooking advantageous)
- Passion for child nutrition and wellbeing
- Knowledge of food safety, allergies, and dietary needs
- Confidence in menu planning aligned to nutritional guidelines
- Strong organisation and time management
