Platinum Dental Studio is looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team in Albany Creek.

We are a modern, family-focused dental practice providing general, cosmetic, implant, orthodontic and surgical dental treatment. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their work and would like to become a long-term member of our team.

About the Role

We are looking for someone available approximately 3–4 days per week, with Tuesday and Thursday availability highly desirable.

Your role will include

- Chairside dental assisting
- Instrument preparation and sterilisation
- Infection control procedures
- Surgery setup and cleaning
- Assisting with general dentistry, implants, orthodontics and surgical procedures
- Supporting reception when required
- Answering phones and assisting with patient enquiries
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and efficient practice

The successful applicant will be reliable, organised, caring and willing to contribute to both the clinical and day-to-day operation of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Chairside Dental Assisting

- Prepare treatment rooms before each patient.
- Assist dentists during examinations and dental procedures.
- Pass instruments and materials efficiently during treatment.
- Operate suction and assist with moisture control.
- Prepare dental materials as directed by the dentist.
- Assist with general dentistry, restorative procedures, extractions, orthodontics, implants and other procedures according to experience and training.
- Ensure patients remain comfortable and supported throughout treatment.
- Turn over treatment rooms efficiently between patients.

Infection Control and Sterilisation

- Follow current infection prevention and control procedures.
- Clean,



disinfect and sterilise dental instruments correctly.
- Package and store sterilised instruments appropriately.
- Maintain sterilisation records where required.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of clinical equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of sterilisation and clinical consumables.
- Maintain a clean and organised sterilisation area.

Patient Care

- Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Help nervous or anxious patients feel comfortable.
- Assist patients entering and leaving the dental chair where required.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Communicate respectfully with patients, families and team members.

Clinical Administration

- Accurately record information as directed by the dentist.
- Assist with clinical notes, charting and treatment documentation where appropriate.
- Prepare laboratory cases, impressions, scans or other clinical items for dispatch where required.
- Assist with radiographs, photographs and digital scanning according to training and permitted scope.

Reception Support When required, assist the reception team with:

- Answering telephone calls.
- Booking and confirming appointments.
- Greeting patients.
- Responding to basic patient enquiries.
- Processing payments and health fund claims following training.
- Maintaining accurate patient information.

Practice and Team Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually and be ready for the clinical day.
- Work cooperatively with dentists, dental assistants,



reception staff and management.
- Help maintain an organised and effective daily schedule.
- Assist other team members when workload permits.
- Participate in staff meetings and training.
- Follow practice policies and procedures.
- Report equipment faults, stock shortages, incidents or concerns promptly.
- Maintain professional behaviour and presentation at all times.

- Flexible to assist with both clinical and reception duties when required

Certificate III in Dental Assisting or previous dental experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. Applicants currently studying are welcome to apply if they can provide consistent weekly availability.
