Join a specialist dermatology practice and work alongside experienced dermatologists providing evidence-based laser and device treatments for a broad range of skin conditions. We are looking for an experienced Laser Nurse who is clinically confident, patient-focused and interested in becoming a valued long-term member of the BISSC team.

About BISSC Dermatology

BISSC Dermatology is an established specialist dermatology practice located in Dutton Park, Brisbane.

Our dermatologists provide comprehensive care across medical, surgical and procedural dermatology. We are committed to delivering thoughtful, individualised and evidence-based care in a professional and welcoming environment.

Our laser service forms part of this specialist medical care. There are no sales targets or pressure to sell treatments or products - our focus is on providing the right treatment for the right patient.

About the role

As our Dermatology Laser Nurse, you will work closely with our dermatologists and nursing team to provide laser and device-based treatments for a broad range of dermatological indications. Depending on your experience and qualifications, your role may include:

 Performing laser and energy-based treatments within your scope of practice

 Conducting patient consultations, assessments and clinical photography

 Treating appropriate vascular and pigmentary conditions, acne and acne scarring,

photodamage and other dermatological indications

 Developing treatment plans in collaboration with our dermatologists

 Providing comprehensive pre- and post-treatment education and care





 Monitoring treatment outcomes and adjusting treatment plans as appropriate

 Maintaining accurate clinical documentation

 Assisting our dermatologists with laser and procedural treatments

 Maintaining high standards of laser safety, infection control and clinical governance

You will have the opportunity to see interesting and wide-ranging dermatological presentations, with specialist dermatologist support readily available when required.

About you

This position is best suited to an experienced laser clinician who already has established practical laser skills and is looking to further develop those skills within a specialist medical environment. We are looking for someone who has:

 Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

 Demonstrated hands-on experience with laser and/or energy-based devices

 Current Queensland laser licences relevant to the role

 A sound understanding of laser principles, skin types, treatment parameters and laser safety

 Excellent clinical judgement and attention to detail

 Confidence working independently within their scope of practice

 Strong communication and patient education skills

 A warm, professional and compassionate approach to patient care

 A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing learning





 The ability to work collaboratively as part of a specialist medical team

Experience working within dermatology, plastic surgery or another specialist medical setting would be highly regarded.
