The purpose of the role is to support the administration activities required to deliver product to depots, customers and retail outlets within the zone and interstate. The position plays a vital role in executing transport operations' activities while liaising with other functions within the business autonomously to achieve results on a day-to-day basis.
What you will enjoy doing
- Schedule approximately 35–40 delivery runs per day using approved scheduling systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, company policies, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
- You will be responsible for ensuring the driver paperwork aligns with the work scheduled and product loaded
- You shall liaise with the customer service, scheduler and/or account managers to support with customer enquiries and deliveries, connect with the drivers to communicate and execute the business requirements as they arise
- Ensure driver schedules comply with Fatigue Management requirements, including monitoring driver hours, work/rest breaks, and fitness for duty
- Allocate appropriately licensed, trained, and authorised drivers to delivery tasks in accordance with operational and regulatory requirements
- Assign suitable vehicles and equipment to tasks, ensuring vehicle capability, capacity, and site requirements are met
- Plan and sequence delivery routes to maximise productivity while maintaining safety and customer service commitments
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Dispatch, Production, Account Managers, Transport Operations, and 3PL providers to ensure effective execution of daily operations
- Escalate customer site hazards, access concerns, and safety risks through the appropriate reporting and management processes
- Monitor compliance reporting systems and proactively address scheduling risks or breaches. Analyse delivery performance, route efficiency, fleet utilization, and service metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
