Electricians Wanted | Multiple 5MW Solar + BESS Projects
We are seeking expressions of interest from experiencedSolar Farm Operators and Electriciansto join a growing pipeline of renewable energy projects across theRiverina region of NSW.
With multiple5MW solar and BESS projectscommencing, we are looking to build and add to our existing strong team of skilled personnel for an initial3-month engagement, with the potential for ongoing work as our project pipeline continues to grow.
Position Overview
The Electrician carries out licensed electrical installation, testing, commissioning, across the solar farm and BESS facility, DC and AC systems. The role ensures that all electrical work complies with AS/NZS 3000, relevant standards, codes and safety requirements. Provides technical guidance and supervision to trade assistants and apprentices.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Install, terminate, test and commission DC and AC systems including PV string cabling, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, and switchboards.
Perform terminations and connections on LV equipment and, where authorised and competent, HV equipment.
Conduct testing, fault-finding, and diagnostics on electrical systems, equipment, and instrumentation.
Point to point testing, insulation resistance testing.
Complete inverter station and transformer installation and commissioning activities.
Install and test earthing, bonding, and lightning protection systems.
Interpret and work from electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and specifications.
Complete and certify electrical work in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 and relevant standards.
Complete test sheets, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and commissioning documentation.
Provide guidance, mentoring, and supervision to electrical trade assistants and apprentices.
Identify and report hazards, defects, and non-conformances, and support close-out.
Achieve daily production KPIs
Qualifications, Licences & Tickets
Construction Induction Card (White Card).
Electrical Work Licence (Recent South Wales)
Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) & CPR
First Aid certificates.
HV Switching / Access Authorisation, Test & Tag competency.
Skills and Experience
Trade-qualified electrician with demonstrated post-apprenticeship experience.
Experience on utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or industrial/commercial projects highly regarded.
Sound working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and relevant electrical standards and codes.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Strong safety leadership, quality focus, and attention to detail.
Effective communication and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
Work Health & Safety Responsibilities
Ensure all electrical work is carried out safely and in accordance with statutory and site requirements.
Apply isolation, lock-out/tag-out, test-before-touch, and permit-to-work procedures.
Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work.
Comply with all site safety rules, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), permits, and management plans.
Complete pre-start checks, prestart meetings, and Take-5 / JHA hazard assessments before commencing work.
Correctly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)
and report defective equipment.
Report all hazards, incidents, injuries, and near misses immediately in accordance with site procedures.
Stop work and raise concerns where an activity is deemed unsafe.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Work is performed outdoors on an active construction / operational solar farm in varying weather conditions.
Exposure to sun, heat, rain, dust, noise and uneven terrain across a large site.
Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and manual handling for extended periods.
May involve work at heights, in confined spaces, and near live electrical equipment (role dependent).
Compliance with fitness-for-work, fatigue management, and drug & alcohol policies is required.
Some roles may require shift work, extended hours, or drive-in/drive-out arrangements.

Rates are as follows
$55.00/hour + penalties
$80.00 per day LAFHA allowance
