We are currently seeking a TO2 Biosecurity Officer (Compliance). The experienced candidate will form part of a dedicated team until June 2027, with the possibility of extending, based in Cairns.

Your new role
n
As the TO2 Biosecurity Officer (Compliance), you will assist the team in achieving efficient and effective delivery of operational goals under direct guidance and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
n
As part of this opportunity, your key tasks and responsibilities will be the following:
n
- Undertaking tasks contributing to the protection of Queensland's biosecurity system by assisting stakeholders to manage biosecurity risks associated with diseases, pests and invasive species.
n
- Conducting field-based monitoring, surveillance, auditing and treatment activities.
n
- Gathering and recording data, evidence collection for investigations, and assisting stakeholders to achieve legislative compliance.
n
- Responding to general enquiries and providing fundamental technical information, escalating complex queries when required.
n
- Supporting effective teamwork and contributing positively to group tasks.
n
What you'll need to succeed
n
- To be successful, you will have a current unrestricted "C" Class Driving Licence.
n
- A Diploma in a related field from a recognised tertiary institution.
n
- Practical experience or ability to quickly acquire skills in using smart mobile devices and GPS.
n
- Highly desirable – First Aid Certificate.
n
- Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) Licence.
n
- Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) or Compliance and Risk Management.
