With a solid reputation for safety, quality, and technical expertise, they are seeking a motivated Drill Rig Operator / Excavator Operator to join their Cairns-based team and contribute to a variety of exciting projects across the region.

Your new role
n
Working on a Monday to Friday (5/2) roster, you will operate a 13-tonne Komatsu excavator fitted with a TEI drill mast across a range of civil and geotechnical projects. Based out of Cairns, you will generally work 10–12-hour days and play a key role in ensuring drilling operations are completed safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include

- Operating a 13T Komatsu excavator with TEI drill mast attachments
n
- Assisting with geotechnical and ground engineering projects
n
- Conducting pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance
n
- Working collaboratively with site crews and project teams
n
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
n
- Travelling to regional project sites when required
n
n
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have
n
n
- Previous experience operating excavators in civil, drilling, construction, or related environments
n
- An Excavator Ticket/Ticketed competency (highly regarded)
n
- White Card
n
- Working at Heights certification (desirable)
n
- HR Driving Licence (desirable)
n
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
n
- Ability to work extended 10–12-hour days when required
n
- A positive attitude and willingness to travel for project work
n
