About the role

Nurture Preschool and Early Learning Centre is seeking a Diploma Educator to join our dedicated team in West Wallsend NSW 2286. This is a part-time position three days per week from 8:30-3:00 on Monday and Tuesday and 8:30-4:30 on Friday. Would suit educator with school aged children as mostly school hours.

As a Diploma Educator, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care, fostering children's development, learning, and wellbeing in a supportive and nurturing environment. Your contributions will directly support our centre's mission to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating space where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

What you'll be doing

- Planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences and activities that promote children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development

- Supervising and supporting children in all areas of the centre, including indoor and outdoor play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times

- Building positive relationships with children and families, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported

- Observing and assessing children's progress and development, documenting observations and communicating regularly with families about their child's learning and growth

- Collaborating with colleagues and leadership to maintain high standards of care, cleanliness, and safety throughout the centre

- Supporting children with routine tasks such as toileting, hand washing, dressing, and personal hygiene with patience and respect

- Responding sensitively to children's emotional and behavioural needs, implementing positive guidance strategies that promote self-regulation and social skills

- Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, incident reports,



and other required documentation

- Participating in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to continually improve practice and knowledge

- Following all Australian Early Childhood Education and Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation, including child protection and health and safety requirements

What we're looking for

- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification

- Current Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance or willingness to obtain one

- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings

- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting children's development and wellbeing

- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive workplace culture

- Demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive, safe, and supportive environments for all children

- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment

- Understanding of child protection obligations and commitment to safeguarding children

- Preferred experience working in early childhood education and care settings





- Preferred knowledge of children with additional needs or diverse learning requirements
