Expressions of interest are invited from ongoing and temporary employees within the NSW Public Sector who wish to be considered for this temporary role for a period up to 4 months. About the Role The Director, Fiscal Policy works as part of the Economic, Housing and Infrastructure (EHI) Policy Group, leading the Fiscal Policy team to deliver evidence-based analysis and advice on complex economic and infrastructure policy matters. This is a critical role within the Group, offering exposure to central high profile decision makers.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Economic Policy this term role is an opportunity for a highly experienced policy professional to make an impact on the communities in NSW.
For this role of Director, Fiscal Policy we are seeking a candidate with strong economic policy expertise and qualifications, excellent knowledge of NSW Budget processes, Cabinet, Parliament and Government administration and experience leading a team of economists and policy makers.

- Partner with agencies across government to deliver major policy reform.
- Make a significant contribution to the outcomes of the NSW Budget.
- Ensure robust and credible economic policy advice is delivered to the senior executive and Premier’s office on diverse and complex policy questions.
We're Looking For
- Alongside the above skills and experience, ideally you will also:
- Have extensive experience leading the delivery of policy reforms, resolving policy conflicts and executing complex strategies.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Have proven experience in leading a team with innovation, adaptability and foster self-motivation and flexibility.
- Exhibit robust analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Commit to the highest levels of ethical behavior and integrity.
- Be eager to make a difference to the communities of NSW.
