Director, Quantity Surveying

Our client is a well-established, national property and infrastructure consultancy, currently seeking an experienced Director to lead and build their Quantity Surveying business unit in Brisbane. This is a genuine opportunity to shape a business from the ground up, backed by the scale, brand and client relationships of a respected, growing organisation.
About the business
Our client is a substantial national consultancy with a strong and growing presence across the eastern seaboard. Following a recent strategic acquisition, their Quantity Surveying capability now sits alongside an already well-established cost consultancy offering, giving clients genuine end-to-end coverage across the property and infrastructure lifecycle.
About the role An opportunity has arisen for a new Director to take the reins of an established, well-regarded team and grow it into a business of real scale.
This role is externally focused first and foremost. You will raise the firm's profile in the Brisbane market, build relationships with senior clients and stakeholders, and win new commissions, while also providing leadership, mentoring and development to your growing team. Importantly, you won't be starting from zero: the existing team already holds strong relationships, giving you a genuine head start into the market.
Reporting into the national leadership team, you will be responsible for:
- Business development activity and growth, sourcing and securing recent work
- Client relationship management and oversight of service delivery quality
- Leadership, mentoring and development of your team
- Financial performance and profitability of the business unit and its projects
- Contributing to the continued growth and positive recognition of the firm's brand
- Collaborating with Project Management, Cost Engineering and other business units nationally
About you
- 15+ years' experience delivering quantity surveying and cost management services within the property and infrastructure sectors, ideally gained within a consulting group, contractor or developer
- A strong, well-developed network across the Queensland property and infrastructure market
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
- A track record of winning work and building client relationships, alongside strong project delivery experience
- Natural leadership presence, with a collaborative, engaging management style
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and strong commercial acumen
- Candidates operating at Associate Director level with the right experience, energy and market connections, but not yet at Director level, are also encouraged to apply.
