About the role
Apex Support Services is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team and support participants across South West Sydney and Western Sydney. This casual role involves providing personalised care and support to participants with a range of disabilities, helping them live independently and engage with their local community.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting participants with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Accompanying participants to appointments, social activities, and community events.
- Providing support during overnight, sleepover, and pickup shifts throughout the day.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to help participants achieve their goals.
- Documenting participants' progress and updating care plans as required.
- Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
About you
- Valid work visa required for employment.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check,
which must be obtained before commencing employment.
- Working With Children Check.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of relevant NDIS training modules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with participants and their families.
- A patient, empathetic, and person-centred approach to care.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
