Role Description The Disability Support Worker role is a remote position focused on providing person-centred support to individuals with disability and psychosocial needs in their homes and communities. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and household tasks, while promoting independence, safety, and wellbeing. The role involves implementing individual support plans, supporting community participation,



and encouraging social engagement and meaningful activities.

Disability Support

Workers are expected to maintain clear and respectful communication with participants, families, and support coordinators, accurately document progress and incidents, and adhere to NDIS practice standards and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

- Experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar support role, with a strong understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities, including building trust, working respectfully with diverse communities, and maintaining qualified boundaries.
- Relevant qualification in disability, community services, mental health, social work, nursing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Understanding of the NDIS framework, disability rights, and psychosocial support needs.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, National Police Check, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
