We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Casual Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across Pakenham and the City of Greater Dandenong.
Current Participant Support Opportunities:
1. Pakenham – Female mental health Support Worker - We are seeking a mature, caring and friendly female Support Worker to support an adult female participant in Pakenham. The participant requires support with emotional wellbeing, companionship and community access. We are looking for someone who is patient, a good listener and able to build a positive and trusting professional relationship through friendly everyday conversations. Previous experience supporting people with mental health or psychosocial disability is highly desirable. Short shifts during the day Monday to Friday.
2. City of Greater Dandenong - We are seeking Support Workers who speak Dari/Hazaragi to support two participants located within the City of Greater Dandenong. The participants would benefit from workers who can communicate effectively in Hazaragi and provide culturally responsive and respectful support.
3. Female Support Worker – Child with Autism. We are seeking a female Support Worker who is child-friendly, patient and engaging to support a child with Autism. Applicants should preferably have previous experience supporting children with autism,
developmental disability or additional support needs. We are looking for someone who can build a positive relationship with the child and family while providing safe, consistent and person-centred support. Experience with communication support, emotional regulation, social skills, community participation and development of independence will be highly regarded. Short shifts before and after school.
Essential Requirements:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with appropriate car insurance
- Right to work in Australia
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English
- Ability to provide safe, respectful and participant-centred support
Desirable:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or a related field
- Other relevant community services qualifications
- Previous experience in disability, mental health, autism, youth work, aged care or community services
- Experience supporting children with autism
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
