Senior Site Engineer – Construction / Building – Leading Main Contractor

Location: Seeking a number of permanent Senior Engineers, due to recent internal promotions, across a number of locations nationwide. Open to candidates residing UK-wide; several vacancies available. For candidates flexible to travel / stop away from home, an attractive inconvenience allowance, accommodation paid and dinner allowance are offered.

Role & Responsibilities

n

n
- As Senior Engineer your roles & responsibilities will include:
n
- Management and communication with staff and supply chain; motivate others and develop their skills
n
- Control of information (Drawings / specs / Variations); take ownership of site issues and challenges
n
- Compliance with company processes and procedures
n
- Commercial awareness: actively controls material ordering, reconciliation and Q47/48 process; ensures robust as built information is available to QS; understands supply chain responsibilities and attends
n




- Challenge materials wastage with staff and supply chain; contribute to CVR / Forecast process; take ownership of Earthworks volumes and strategy
n
- Planning / Programming: maps and sequencing; challenge supply chain progress and efficiency; contribute to wider site team on programme matters; ensure Engineering team works efficiently and in line with maps; provide as built information to Planner
n
- Leadership: development of staff (PDRS / 1-to-1s / mentoring); address poor performance; lead by example
n
- Stakeholder relationship: effective communicator; engages with wider team (Architect / Engineer); respectfully challenges upwards on VE matters
n
- Technical: understands techniques for setting out; considers ground conditions and temporary works; contributes to Value Engineering and Buildability; understands procurement and manages quality of workmanship and as built records
n

Requirements

n

n
- Previous employment as a Senior Engineer or an experienced Site Engineer ready for promotion
n
- Industrial & distribution centre project experience preferred; civils / highways projects also considered
n
- Technical understanding of setting out
n
- Eligible to work in the UK (employer does not sponsor)
n
- UK Driving Licence
n
