The Workplace Technology and Enablement team manages all end-user devices, such as mobile devices, laptops, desktops, and virtual desktop operating systems, along with supporting systems like SCCM and InTune, including patching, packaging, vulnerability management, and bespoke solutions.

We are seeking an Engineer / Technical Project Coordinator to assist with upgrading our Windows 10 AVDs to Windows 11 over a 6-month period on a day rate. The role involves upgrading several thousand AVD users through in-place upgrades and new builds, including identifying machine AD group memberships, building machines, liaising with users, tracking progress, and providing updates.

Responsibilities of the role

- Upgrade AVD instances from Windows 10 to Windows 11
n
- Plan, track, and report progress to management
n
- Engage vendors, script, or use migration tools creatively
n
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and users to ensure smooth migration
n
- Assist with change management and prepare change requests
n
- Maintain an issues register, identify risks and issues impacting the project
n

Skills required

n

n
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar environment
n
- Ability to manage timelines, track progress, and coordinate team efforts
n
- Strong communication skills, including written updates
n
- Experience deploying applications with SCCM or similar tools (preferred)
n
- PowerShell scripting experience (favorable)
n
- Experience with AVD, VMware, or similar (preferred)
n
- Solid support background in Windows 10 desktop OS
n
- Ability to perform bare-metal builds using SCCM, InTune, or similar
n
- Facilitation and presentation skills
n
- Willingness to learn and a positive attitude
n
