Your new company
My client, based in Bibra Lake within Marine manufacturing, requires for growth, a draughtsperson for a 3-month contract with a possible extension, paying up to $52ph+ super.
Your new role The Mechanical Draughtsperson is responsible for producing precise technical drawings and documentation to support the design, development and fabrication of mechanical systems and assemblies. This role is critical in delivering Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation and supporting engineering teams across projects such as hydraulic power units (HPUs), pump and filtration systems and associated control assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Skills
- Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using CAD software.
- Prepare IFC drawings for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical parts, assemblies and layouts and diagrams of complex machines and systems.
- Create accurate CAD models of existing or off-the-shelf hardware
- Develop and update as-built drawings and documents.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with design specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and the Production Lead to ensure technical accuracy and design intent is maintained.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into updated documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
What you'll need to succeed To be considered and successful, you will require:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Drafting, or a related technical field from a recognised Australian institution such as TAFE.
- Qualifications should align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 4 or Level 5.
- Trade qualifications with relevant drafting experience may also be considered.
- Additional training or certification in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks Certified Professional) would be considered an advantage.
Professional experience:
- A minimum of 5 years' mechanical drafting experience in marine or complex industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, assemblies and fabrication processes.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
