About the role
Armidale Community Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Armidale NSW 2350, this role is fundamental to our mission of providing high-quality early childhood education and care. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will create a nurturing, inclusive environment where children aged 3-5 years can explore, learn and develop at their own pace.
You will play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of young learners and supporting their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development during these critical formative years.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate learning activities based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
- Creating and maintaining a protected, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that reflects children's interests and promotes curiosity
- Building positive relationships with children and responding to their individual needs, strengths and learning styles
- Observing and documenting children's progress and development, and communicating regularly with parents and carers about their child's learning journey
- Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and helping them develop social skills, resilience and independence
- Collaborating with fellow educators and team members to ensure consistency of care and educational practice
- Maintaining detailed records and keeping documentation current in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Promoting positive behaviour through role modelling and gentle guidance
- Participating in professional development and staying current with best practices in early childhood education
- Supporting the health, hygiene and safety of all children in your care
What we're looking for
- A recognised Bachelor of Education Early Childhood Education and Care child teaching qualification recognised by the regulatory authority in New South Wales
- Current Working with Children Check clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and defribrilation.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families and colleagues
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple activities
- Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
- The ability to create inclusive, welcoming environments that celebrate diversity and support all learners
- Physical capability to work with young children, including lifting, bending and supervising active play
- Demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements
- Preferred experience working in an early childhood education setting such as a preschool,
long day care centre or similar facility
