About the Role

This role is all about leading high-quality youth programs that support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of young people while developing future youth leaders.
n
Lead Programs That Matter
n
n
- Design, coordinate and deliver engaging youth programs and activities
n
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Western Sydney Y Space
n
- Support young people to develop leadership skills and confidence
n
- Measure program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
n
- Manage program budgets and resources responsibly
n
n
Lead & Develop People
n
n
- Provide guidance and support to a small team of Youth Workers
n
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture
n
- Coach staff to deliver outstanding youth engagement experiences
n
- Support volunteers and emerging youth leaders
n
n
Build Community Connections
n
n
- Create partnerships with schools, councils and community organisations
n
- Participate in youth networks and community initiatives
n
- Identify opportunities to grow programs and increase participation
n
- Advocate for the needs of young people within the local community
n
n
Keep Young People Safe
n
n
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance and risk management
n
- Create inclusive, welcoming and child-safe environments
n
- Ensure programs align with Y policies and procedures
n
n
About You
n
You're probably an experienced Youth Worker who's ready for the next challenge.
n
You love working directly with young people but are excited by the opportunity to lead others, build partnerships, and have a bigger impact in your community.
n
You'll Bring:
n
n
- Experience working with young people in community, education or youth settings
n
- Confidence supporting young people with diverse needs and challenging behaviours
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
n
- The ability to organise programs, projects and priorities effectively
n
- A genuine passion for empowering young people to succeed
n
- Leadership potential and the desire to develop others
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
- Diploma in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology or a related field
n
- Current NSW Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
n
- Current Working With Children Check
n
- Commitment to safeguarding children and young people
n
- CPR & First Aid Certificate
n
- Experience coordinating programs or leading staff/volunteers
n
n
