Overview
n
We're looking for a Junior Designer (Design & Garment Tech) to join our growing design team across Hansen & Gretel and OWNLEY. This role is ideal for a detail-driven designer who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of fashion and wants hands-on exposure to the full design-to-production lifecycle.

You'll work closely with senior designers, supporting garment design, fittings, technical documentation, and production follow-through across both brands.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Design & Developmentn n
- Support garment design across ready-to-wear collections, capsules, and special drops
n
- Create and update sketches, CADs, and design files
n
- Assist with fabric, trim, and embellishment sourcing
n
n
- Garment Technology & Fitn
n
- Prepare and maintain accurate tech packs including measurements, construction details, and grading notes
n
- Measure samples and update spec sheets throughout the sampling process
n
- Attend fittings, take detailed fit notes, and track amendments
n
- Communicate fit and construction feedback to suppliers under guidance of senior designers
n
- Support grading, size set reviews, and pre-production approvals
n
- Assist with quality control checks against approved samples and tech packs
n
n
- Production & Samplingn
n
- Support sample development from first prototype through to PP samples
n
- Liaise with offshore factories and local makers alongside senior designers
n
- Track sample timelines and follow up on approvals
n
- Assist in maintaining critical path schedules and delivery timelines
n
n
- Studio & Collection Supportn
n
- Prepare garments for fittings, campaign shoots, and presentations
n
- Assist with lookbooks, line sheets, and internal range reviews
n
- Maintain organisation of samples, fabric libraries, trims, and patterns
n
- Provide general studio and admin support across both brands as needed
n
n
n
Skills & Experience
n
n
- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design or Fashion Technology
n
- 1–2 years experience in a junior design or garment tech role (or strong graduate with relevant internships)
n
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills; Photoshop and InDesign a plus
n
- Sound understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fit
n
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
n
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
n
- Passion for contemporary womenswear and the Hansen & Gretel / OWNLEY aesthetic
n
