We are seeking a Project Officer to support the delivery of Health Access Outreach Services across rural and Aboriginal communities in NSW and the ACT.
Working as part of the Health Access Services team, you will coordinate outreach programs, support regional service planning and work closely with healthcare providers and community stakeholders to improve access to specialist health services through codesigned, community-led approaches.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, to improve access to culturally responsive specialist health outreach services in under-resourced communities.
This is a part-time (3 days per week) position on a fixed-term contract, concluding 28 February 2027.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate Regional Outreach Programs
- Coordinate Health Access Outreach Services across a defined region to improve access to culturally responsive specialist health services.
- Work with Local Health Districts, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and other partners to support effective program delivery and address regional service gaps.
Build and Manage Stakeholder Relationships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, community organisations and regional stakeholders.
- Support partners to build capacity and enable local decision-making aligned with program objectives.
Support Program Delivery and Regional Planning
- Contribute to regional planning, needs assessments and service development through culturally responsive, codesigned, community-led approaches.
- Support program reporting, evaluation and monitoring of subcontractor performance to ensure effective delivery.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in health, community services or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience coordinating programs or services within health, community or outreach settings
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and coordinate projects effectively
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems such as Salesforce
- Understanding of public health systems, health equity and the social determinants of health (desirable)
- Commitment to Aboriginal health, cultural awareness and closing the health equity gap
