Electrical Engineering Internship (Vocational Placement)

About the Program
Premium Graduate Placements (PGP) partners with leading Australian engineering and consultancy firms to provide structured internship opportunities for students and graduates in Electrical Engineering. This program is designed to provide practical, industry-based experience and exposure to real-world engineering projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to support the design, documentation, and delivery of electrical engineering projects. You will gain exposure to power systems, lighting design, electrical services, renewable energy systems, and project coordination depending on your placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of electrical designs, drawings, and technical documentation
- Support electrical calculations, load assessments, and system analysis
- Participate in site inspections, testing, and project coordination activities
- Work with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, or Revit
- Assist with power distribution, lighting, and control system designs
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project teams to ensure project compliance and quality standards
- Support research and reporting related to engineering improvements and sustainability initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- International students are welcome to apply
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and engineering principles
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, Revit, or similar software is an advantage
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and work in a collaborative team environment
- Available for at least 3 days per week
