The role will be responsible for delivering projects from concept and design through installation, commissioning, and handover, with a strong focus on electrical infrastructure, automation integration, process capacity, and factory optimization.

A key part of the role will be supporting the site’s transition toward greater independence from legacy Saputo systems, ensuring robust, maintainable, and future-ready electrical and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of electrical engineering and capital projects across the manufacturing site, from scope definition and design through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop and manage projects involving electrical infrastructure, power distribution, MCCs, control panels, plant utilities, and industrial electrical systems.
- Support the integration and upgrade of PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and industrial communication networks.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to improve process capacity, equipment reliability, production efficiency, and overall factory performance.
- Lead factory optimization initiatives through engineering improvements, automation upgrades, equipment modifications, and process improvements.
- Support the site in reducing reliance on legacy Saputo systems, including assessment, replacement, migration, and integration of legacy electrical and automation infrastructure.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, safety, and operations teams to ensure projects meet business and manufacturing requirements.
- Manage external engineering firms, electrical contractors, automation specialists, equipment suppliers, and other project partners.
- Develop project scopes,

technical specifications, budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and execution plans.
- Ensure all electrical and automation work complies with relevant safety, engineering, food manufacturing, and regulatory standards.
- Provide hands-on technical support during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, start-up, and production ramp-up.
- Manage project risks, issues, changes, costs, and timelines, ensuring successful delivery against agreed objectives.
- Produce clear project documentation, including drawings, specifications, commissioning records, operating documentation, and handover packages.
- Promote engineering standards, reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement across the site.

Key Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering electrical engineering and capital projects within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of electrical infrastructure and industrial power distribution.
- Experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
- Proven experience in site execution, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and production start-up.
- Ability and willingness to work hands-on in a live manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical standard.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, contractor management,

and change control.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience
- Experience within food, dairy, beverage, FMCG, or other high-volume process manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with hygienic production environments and food manufacturing standards.
- Experience with legacy-system replacement, automation migration, or plant modernization programs.
- Experience integrating electrical and automation systems with existing manufacturing infrastructure.
- Familiarity with industrial Ethernet and other plant communication networks.
- Experience delivering projects focused on capacity expansion, OEE improvement, energy efficiency, reliability, or factory optimization.

Key Competencies

- Project Delivery: Strong ownership from concept through commissioning and handover.
- Technical Expertise: Strong electrical and automation engineering capability.
- Hands-On Execution: Comfortable working on the factory floor and resolving practical site issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify opportunities and translate them into measurable improvements.
- Stakeholder Management: Confident working with operators, maintenance teams, contractors, suppliers, engineers, and senior stakeholders.
- Commercial Awareness: Able to manage project budgets, contractors, procurement, and cost control.
- Safety Leadership: Demonstrates a solid commitment to electrical, machinery, process, and workplace safety.
- Communication: Clear, structured, and effective communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
