ACE Electrical Australia is seeking a reliable and motivated Electrical or Telecommunications Trades Assistant to join its team in Karratha, Western Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who is interested in supporting qualified electricians and telecommunications technicians across electrical, communications and underground utility projects. The successful applicant will assist with site preparation, material handling, equipment setup, cable installation and general trade support while working in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

The company specialises in HV/LV electrical works, cable installation and jointing, testing, fault finding and underground utility construction.

About the Role

As an Electrical or Telecommunications Trades Assistant, you will provide practical support to electricians, telecommunications technicians and other tradespeople on a range of electrical, communications and utility infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist electricians and telecommunications technicians with day-to-day site activities

- Prepare work areas and assist with site setup and pack-down

- Load, unload and safely move tools, equipment, cables and construction materials

- Assist with the installation,



positioning and securing of cables, conduits and other infrastructure

- Assist with trenching, excavation and underground utility works as directed

- Prepare tools, equipment and materials required for scheduled work

- Assist with cable pulling, laying, handling and preparation

- Assist tradespeople with installation, maintenance and repair activities

- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely and appropriately

- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition

- Perform basic cleaning, housekeeping and site maintenance duties

- Assist with measuring, marking and preparing work areas

- Follow instructions from electricians, supervisors and telecommunications technicians

- Identify and report hazards, damaged equipment or unsafe conditions

- Follow all workplace health and safety and environmental procedures

- Complete relevant site documentation and records as required

- Work cooperatively with tradespeople and other site personnel

- Perform other general trade assistant duties as required

Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, Electrical Trades Assistant, Telecommunications Trades Assistant or similar role is desirable

- Experience working on construction, electrical,



telecommunications or utility infrastructure sites is desirable

- Basic understanding of electrical, telecommunications or construction work practices

- Ability to safely use common hand tools and power tools

- Ability to handle cables, equipment and construction materials

- Ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of qualified tradespeople

- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements

- Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Reliable and punctual work ethic

- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions

- Ability to work independently when required and as part of a team

- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training where required

- Current driver's licence is desirable

Essential Requirements

- Previous relevant construction, electrical, telecommunications or trade support experience is desirable

- Ability to safely perform manual handling and physical site duties

- Ability to comply with workplace health and safety requirements

- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical

- Ability to successfully complete a drug and alcohol screen

- Two contactable employment referees
