Emergency Services Officer
We are seeking our next Emergency Services Officer to join the RFDS team!
As an Emergency Services Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining site readiness, responding to emergencies, and supporting the health and wellbeing of workers in remote and industrial environments. Working closely with clients, healthcare professionals, and emergency response teams, you will help ensure safe, effective outcomes when they matter most.
About the role
- Deliver first aid, emergency response and patient care services in accordance with RFDS Clinical Practice Guidelines and site requirements.
- Maintain operational readiness through equipment inspections, emergency planning and participation in response activities.
- Collaborate with clients, emergency services personnel and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective incident management and patient outcomes
- This is a maximum-term contract until 30 April 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to organisational requirements.
About You
- Experience in emergency response, industrial healthcare or a similar offshore operational environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Committed to safety, teamwork and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Essential Qualifications and Licences
- Certificate IV in Health Care (or higher).
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (or equivalent).
- Qualification to collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing.
- Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver’s Licence.
- Four-Wheel Drive Operation and Maintenance qualification.
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support or Early Management of Severe Trauma qualifications.
- Experience working within the Mining Industry
