Job Description
Who We Are
n
Healthcare needs a better rhythm: one that keeps care continuous and deeply human. Heidi is building an AI Care Partner that works alongside clinicians to make that possible.
n
We're a team of doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives building tools that help clinicians stay focused on what matters most: their patients.
n
In just 18 months, Heidi has given back more than 18 million hours to healthcare professionals — supporting 73 million patient visits in 116 countries. Today, more than two million patient visits each week are powered by Heidi worldwide.
n
Backed by nearly $100 million in funding, we're growing in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, partnering with leading health systems including the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health.
n
The Role
n
As Financial Controller at Heidi Health, you'll own the integrity of our financial operations across multiple global entities. You'll lead the month‐end close, financial controls, statutory reporting and multi‐entity accounting function.
n
You'll manage and develop our accounting team, drive continuous improvement across processes and systems, and ensure our financial infrastructure keeps pace with a business growing double digits month on month. You'll also work closely with our AR Operations Manager, FP&A; Manager and FinOps and Systems Lead to build a finance function that scales. We're building an AI‐forward finance team and expect this role to actively leverage AI tooling to improve accuracy, speed and efficiency across financial operations.
n
This is a role for someone who has run an accounting function end to end and wants to do it again at pace. If you've built controls, led a close across multiple entities, and know what good looks like in a high‐growth SaaS environment, we'd love to hear from you.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
- Own the end‐to‐end month‐end and year‐end close across all Heidi entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and continuous improvement in the close cycle.
n
- Lead and develop the accounting team, setting standards, building capability and creating a culture of ownership and accountability.
n
- Strengthen and maintain the financial control environment across a multi‐entity, multi‐currency structure, including reconciliations, intercompany accounting and journal entry review.
n
- Deliver timely, accurate monthly management reports, financial statements and variance analysis for leadership and the board.
n
- Own statutory reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements across all jurisdictions.
n
- Oversee tax and regulatory obligations (GST/VAT, payroll tax, corporate compliance) in partnership with external advisers.
n
- Partner with the AR Operations Manager to ensure revenue and AR data flows cleanly into the ledger and reporting.
n
- Work with our FinOps and Systems Lead to improve ERP workflows, system integrations and automation across the finance tech stack.
n
- Support audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors.
n
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual effort, improve data integrity and allow the finance function to scale without scaling headcount linearly.
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
n
- CA or CPA qualified.
n
- 7+ years of experience in financial accounting, audit or controllership, with at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting role.
n
- Big 4 background combined with experience in a SaaS or high‐growth technology business is ideal.
n
- Strong technical accounting skills across IFRS and experience managing multi‐entity, multi‐currency environments.
n
- Experience leading and developing a team. You set the bar and hold people to it.
n
- Comfortable working in an ERP environment with imperfect data. You know how to build controls around systems that are still maturing.
n
- Strong sense of ownership and initiative. You run the function, you don't wait to be told.
n
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and stakeholder management.
n
- Experience with or genuine interest in applying AI and automation to financial operations.
n
n
The Way We Work

n
- Build to Last – we design for safety and reliability so clinicians, patients, and our teams can trust what we build every day.
n
- Own Your Practice – ideas rise on merit, not title, and everyone shares responsibility for the standards we set together.
n
- Move Fast, Stay Steady – we move quickly but never at the cost of trust. Progress only matters if people can depend on what we make.
n
- Make Others Better – honest feedback, steady support, and shared growth keep our teams improving together.
n
n
Benefits
n
n
- Adaptable hybrid working, with 3 days in the office
n
- Monthly $150 AUD benefit to invest in your physical and mental wellbeing
n
- Recharge Days after major milestones and busy periods

- A generous personal development budget of $1000 AUD per annum
n
- Become an owner, with shares (equity) in the company, if Heidi wins, we all win
n
- A one‐time home office setup contribution
n
- 26 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers, 18 weeks for secondary carers
n
- A fertility support benefit of $10,000 AUD covering IVF, egg freezing or sperm freezing
n
- 10 days per year dedicated to supporting clinicians in maintaining accreditation
n
- The rare chance to create a global impact as you immerse yourself in one of Australia's leading healthtech startups
n
- If you have an impact quickly, the opportunity to fast track your startup career
