FIFO Environmental Jobs | 7:7 Roster | Mining Closure & Rehabilitation Careers | 2 Roles Available (Immediate Oct/Nov Intake)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Environment & Closure Advisor to join a leading Australian mining operation. This is a specialist environmental opportunity focused on mine rehabilitation, environmental compliance, monitoring, and closure planning.

⚠️ Important: This is a specialist environmental science role, not a general HSE or safety advisor position.

We have two FIFO environmental jobs available:

- Role 1: Immediate start (target commencement 2 September)

- Role 2: Planned start October/November intake

About the Environment & Closure Advisor Role

This is a FIFO 7:7 roster environmental job where you will work across both field-based environmental monitoring and office-based reporting and analysis.

You will play a key role in supporting environmental management systems, mine closure planning, and rehabilitation performance across a large-scale mining operation.

Key Responsibilities – Environmental & Closure Focus

- Conduct environmental inspections including water quality, dust monitoring, waste management, and hazardous materials compliance

- Undertake rehabilitation monitoring of flora, fauna, weeds, pests, and land restoration progress

- Support mine closure planning and environmental closure activities

- Supervise environmental contractors and consultants on site

- Perform environmental sampling, monitoring, and data analysis

- Prepare environmental compliance reports, ESG reporting, and regulatory documentation

- Manage and maintain GIS systems (ArcGIS / QGIS) and geospatial environmental data

- Support closure risk registers and land use permit compliance

- Participate in environmental incident investigations and corrective actions

- Engage with Traditional Owners, regulators, and local stakeholders

- Deliver environmental training and awareness programs on site





- Support continuous improvement of environmental performance and compliance systems

What We’re Looking For – Environmental Jobs Requirements To be successful in this FIFO environmental advisor role, you will have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related discipline

- Minimum 5 years’ environmental experience

- At least 2 years’ experience in the mining or resources sector

- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting

- Experience working with Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS and/or QGIS preferred)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently in remote FIFO mining environments

- Current manual C-Class driver’s licence (essential)

Desirable Skills

- First Aid certification

- Snake handling certification or experience

- Mine rehabilitation and closure planning experience

- Stakeholder engagement with regulators and Traditional Owners

FIFO Roster & Conditions

- FIFO 7:7 roster (Australia mining site)

- Fly in Wednesday morning / Fly out Wednesday morning

- 4 hours paid travel time on the 8th day
