The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, Sustainability, the Environment Manager will play a critical role as a short-term contractor delivering environmental sustainability elements of the Real Estate ESG strategy.

This position will lead the implementation of complex environmental sustainability programs, oversee ESG data and reporting systems, drive progress towards net zero commitments, and support climate resilience initiatives across a diverse real estate portfolio. The role also provides significant client-facing exposure, promoting sustainability performance and supporting industry-leading ESG outcomes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Lead the implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives aligned with the Real Estate ESG strategy.
- Drive delivery of net zero carbon commitments, including management of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reduction programs.
- Manage ESG data systems, reporting processes and assurance activities to ensure accurate, auditable and high-quality reporting.
- Oversee sustainability reporting and benchmark submissions, including GRESB, NGERS, NABERS, Green Star and sustainability-linked loan reporting.




- Monitor environmental performance across the asset portfolio and identify opportunities to improve outcomes across energy, water, waste, circularity and climate resilience.
- Develop and support implementation of asset-level climate adaptation and resilience strategies.
- Prepare reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management, clients and internal committees.
- Represent the organisation externally and maintain awareness of emerging ESG trends, regulations and industry best practice.
- Build strong relationships across operational, investment, development and asset management teams to drive positive sustainability outcomes.

About You You are a highly capable sustainability skilled with extensive experience delivering environmental and ESG outcomes within large and complex organisations. You combine technical expertise with commercial acumen and enjoy influencing stakeholders to achieve meaningful change.

You are equally comfortable working with detailed ESG data and reporting frameworks as you are partnering with senior leaders, clients and external stakeholders. Passionate about environmental sustainability, you bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and a proven ability to deliver measurable outcomes.

Required Skills and Proficiencies

- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, environmental management or a related discipline.
- Approximately 10+ years' experience in environmental sustainability, ESG or related leadership roles.




- Demonstrated success developing and implementing environmental sustainability programs within complex organisations.
- Strong knowledge of net zero strategy, climate resilience, energy, water, waste, circularity and broader ESG frameworks.
- Experience managing ESG reporting, benchmarking and disclosure obligations including GRESB, NGERS, NABERS and Green Star.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across senior leadership and operational teams.
- Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills with experience supporting assurance activities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks and built environment sustainability standards.
