The Water for the environment team is currently seeking to appoint an Environmental Water Mgmt & Cons Off to lead the coordination of environmental water delivery, monitoring and stakeholder engagement programs across the Mid-Murray and Edward-Wakool systems. Working closely with the Senior Environmental Water Manager, the role will support environmental water planning, project delivery, adaptive management, and the development of partnerships that contribute to long-term environmental outcomes.
About You
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in river, floodplain and wetland planning and management, including the hydrology and ecology of rivers, floodplains and wetlands.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex technical, environmental or operational information and present it clearly to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders, including landholders, Aboriginal communities, government agencies, environmental water holders and delivery partners.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, programs or field-based activities, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within dynamic operating environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of water, threatened species and biodiversity conservation legislation, policies and planning frameworks, including the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and problem-solving skills to environmental planning, project delivery, stakeholder management and natural resource management issues.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or experience with a similar role
- Valid NSW drivers’ licence, capability to work in the field, including use of all-terrain vehicles (training provided).
