- Full Time, 35 hours per week

- Temporary up to 6 months

- Open to all NSW locations with a focus on regional

- Clerk 9/10 – Salary from $133,348 to $146,945 per annum plus super and leave loading

The Strategic Projects team plays a pivotal role in supporting the Department's strategic priorities. The team provides secretariat support to the Research and Development (R&D;) Advisory Board, coordinates departmental responses to inquiries, consultations and reviews, and manages key reporting and coordination functions across the Department. The team works closely with senior executives and stakeholders across government to deliver high-quality advice and strategic outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Projects, you'll help drive strategic priorities across DPIRD by delivering policy, project and governance outcomes that support executive and ministerial decision-making. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will:

- Lead and support strategic projects that contribute to departmental and government priorities

- Prepare high-quality policy advice, briefing materials and strategic recommendations for senior leaders

- Coordinate departmental responses to consultations, inquiries and whole-of-government initiatives

- Build robust relationships with stakeholders across the Department, Government and industry to achieve collaborative outcomes

- Coordinate the operation of the Research & Development (R&D;) Advisory Board, including meeting preparation, secretariat support and reporting

- Identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities and develop practical solutions to support informed decision-making.





About You You are a proactive and strategic thinker with strong policy, project management and stakeholder engagement skills. You can navigate complex issues, manage competing priorities and deliver clear, evidence-based advice in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to build trusted relationships, influence outcomes and drive projects through to completion will enable you to succeed in this role.

You will bring

- Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to deliver quality results.

- Strong understanding of NSW Government and Cabinet processes, NSW Boards and Committees guidelines and legislative frameworks.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.

- Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

- Ability to think critically, analyse issues and develop practical solutions.

- A proactive, motivated and flexible approach to navigating complex priorities.
