Role Description
We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers with epilepsy and seizure-management training who are confident supporting both adults and children with disability.
The successful applicant will have experience supporting people with Autism and ADHD and must be confident working with participants whose support needs may include epilepsy, medication assistance, communication support, emotional regulation, community access and daily living assistance.
This role requires a worker who is observant, calm and dependable and who understands the importance of following participant-specific health, medication and emergency-management plans precisely.

- Support adults and children with Autism, ADHD and related support needs.
- Assist with daily living, community participation, appointments, recreational activities and skill development.

- Promote choice, dignity, independence and meaningful participation.
Epilepsy and Health Support
- Recognise and respond appropriately to seizures in accordance with the participant’s Epilepsy Management Plan.
- Follow seizure first-aid and emergency-response procedures.
- Observe and accurately document seizure activity where required.
- Follow participant-specific health-management and escalation procedures.
- Provide medication assistance or administration only within training, organisational procedures and the participant’s documented medication plan.
- Complete any participant-specific epilepsy or medication training required before commencing relevant supports.
- Escalate health concerns promptly and appropriately.
Autism and ADHD Support
- Provide structured, predictable and respectful support.
- Recognise individual sensory, communication and emotional-regulation needs.
- Use transparent, age-appropriate communication.
- Support participants to transition between activities and environments.
- Respond calmly to distress, frustration or dysregulation.
- Avoid unnecessarily escalating situations through confrontation, excessive verbal demands or rushed communication.
Documentation and Safety
- Complete accurate and timely electronic shift notes.
- Document seizures, medication-related matters, incidents and changes in presentation accurately.
- Report risks, incidents and health concerns promptly.
- Follow Himayat policies, NDIS requirements, Work Health and Safety procedures and participant support plans.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and privacy.
