We are currently seeking a Fixed Term Part Time staff member to join our team for 18 months based at our offices in Sunshine.
The role
Reporting to the Media and Communications Coordinator, we are looking for someone who can bring their skills and experience to:
- Prepare Council communications, including signage, news online stories, newsletter content and speeches
- Assist with the management of events
- Prepare digital and social content, including website posts and social media stories
- Collaborate across the organisation to develop story ideas for promotion
To be considered you will have
- A degree or diploma in Communications,
Media or Public Relations with some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience.
- Experience preparing communications for a wide range of audiences
- Strong communication planning and delivery skills for projects and promotions
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to distil complex information into easy-to-understand, accessible and inclusive language
- Local government experience is desirable
