This prestigious joint appointment brings together academic leadership within the University of Melbourne with strategic research leadership and specialist clinical expertise at the Women's, one of Australia's leading neonatal services. As Professor of Neonatology and Consultant Neonatologist - Clinical Academic and Research Lead, you will lead the growth of internationally recognised neonatal research, strengthen multidisciplinary partnerships and translate discovery into improved outcomes for newborns and families.

What you will deliver:

- Provide strategic leadership across neonatal research, clinical care and education.
- Lead internationally recognised research programs that address major challenges in newborn health.
- Strengthen research capability through collaboration, funding success and development of future clinician-scientists.
- Drive research translation to improve clinical practice and outcomes for newborns and families.
- Build partnerships across the University, the Women's, research organisations and the broader health sector.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration.

You may be a great fit if you:

- Hold a research doctorate, medical degree, Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or equivalent)



and specialist registration in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Demonstrate an internationally recognised record of excellence in neonatal research, supported by an outstanding publication record and clinical impact.
- Have sustained success securing competitive, peer-reviewed research funding and building internationally recognised research programs.
- Deliver exceptional neonatal clinical care with a solid commitment to family-centred practice and evidence-based medicine.
- Lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams while fostering inclusive, psychologically safe environments that promote research excellence, education and innovation.
- Build strategic national and international collaborations with universities, hospitals, research institutes, professional bodies and funding organisations.
